🌿✨ My Story ✨🌿

Hi, I’m Sierra Metz, the hands and heart behind Dreadful Wildwood Locs.

Before this business was born, I went through one of the hardest seasons of my life. As a military spouse, life is full of constant change—packing up, moving across the country, leaving behind the friends who feel like family, and walking away from jobs I had worked so hard to build. Every new move felt like starting over from zero.

In the middle of all that chaos, I stopped taking care of myself. My stress was so heavy that it started showing up physically—I developed bald spots from stress-induced hair loss. And let me tell you, that did more than just affect my appearance—it broke something inside me. I didn’t feel like myself anymore. I felt disconnected, unattractive, and utterly lost.

That’s when I started searching for solutions, trying to find anything that would help me feel like me again. I discovered protective styles, and eventually synthetic dreadlocks. But when I ordered my first set, I was crushed. They were stiff, scratchy, heavy, and uncomfortable. Not magical at all.

So, I decided to try making my own. I began experimenting—late nights, trial and error, teaching myself techniques to make locs that were soft, flexible, and comfortable. Something that felt beautiful, wearable, and empowering. Thank God for my husband and his never-wavering support!

When I wore my first handmade set, it changed everything. For the first time in a long time, I felt confident again. I felt powerful. And then, something even more magical happened—other women started reaching out, asking where they could get theirs. That’s the day Dreadful Wildwood Locs was born.

🌙 The Heart of Wildwood

Every set of locs I create carries a piece of my story. They’re not just extensions—they’re a reminder that even when life feels chaotic, even when you feel lost, you can still find beauty, strength, and magic in yourself.

Here in the Wildwood, locs are more than hair—they’re empowerment, expression, and resilience woven together. 🌿✨
